Choosing between HDMI and VGA?
My graphics card and monitor also have HDMI slot along with normal vga one I want to use
HDMI when I want to play games Is there a way to switch between these two through any option
When I toggle display mode from my LCD OSD menu, my screen goes blank and when it comes back I see screen with windows logo without any icons or mouse pointer.
I have to restart my pc and redo my display /resolution settings every time.
I am using windows 7 and ATI 6850 Hd graphics card.
Any ideas..

why dont you just connect to the HDMI ports and leave it?
there's no reason to go back to VGA

try this : http://www.aoclarkejr.com/ati-catalyst-9-9-overcan...
i know catalyst control has been updated since but process should be relatively the same. actually in one of the replies someone answered this question anyway..
"On the newer versions of catalyst, this setting is under “My Digital Flat Panels” in the “Scaling Options (Digital Flat-Panel)” section. The over/underscan options only show up if you have the display set to 1080p, so set it to 1080p first, then go to the My Digital Flat Panels section and change the setting."

I suspect you do not have the monitor properly defined, as to what resolution it can run. HDMI like to run at 1080P (1920x1080). If your monitor is not physically that resolution, then the HDMI may be scaling the screen somehow...

Are you sure its not dvi not vga? dvi its the same as hdmi but without audio so I wouldn't worry about switching or just use hdmi all the time
