Intel Pentium G620 vs Intel core i3 2100.?

Hi I currently have a budget gaming rig with an Intel Pentium G620. It can play games with out and problems as long as I don't jack up the settings too high. My graphics card is a Nvidia GT545. I also have 4 gigs of Kingston HyperX DDR3 1333. So How much of an improvement would I see if I upgraded to a i3 2100? Also does Hyper threading work in games?

Update:

Thanks for the input but the system is hooked up to my HD TV so I need to keep its power consumption at a minimal since the system is in a small case. I would like to get an i5 but I really don't play games that much anymore. I just wanted something that would give a little boost. I've looked at benchmarks and have seen the core i3 is much better then the g620 even hanging with the 1100T and 980 BE CPU's in games. I just want some real word answers. Thank you in advance.

Change out the video card first. The processor isn't as important as the display adapter.

Pentiums are crap. if you should do better than the i3, get a much better one. yet because you're asking about an i3, get the i3. Pentiums are crap. And previous. and really crappy. and not in any respect as sturdy. Did I factor out the Pentium is crap?

core i3 is better.you have chosen a very strong system.i mean your VGA is fine and your RAM is even better.so why don't you try getting the core 5i?it's worth it.try not to rush for buying the system.try to save your money for a better one if you can.but if you couldn't core i3 is much more better than pentium after all.
