How to convince my sister to read?

My little sister is 14 and I remember when I was her age I would read 3 books a week. Reading was very important to me, but my sister hates reading, she won't even read her school books and It kills me to see anyone, especially my sister, living without that joy that I have with books. I have tried buying her books but they just collect dust. I've tried reading to her but she zones me out. I have tried getting her interested in a book by telling her about it, or having her watch the movie, but she acts like it is the most boring thing in the world. I need to find a way to convince her of the joy of reading?

    There are just some people that don't enjoy it. Does she like a certain tv show? Like Pretty little liars? Tell her that the books are much better! She will have to read them to see if its true.

    Some like shopping and some like reading!Sorry but not everyone loves reading like you do!My advice just Get Over It!!!Also it most likely the boring thing in the world!Leave the poor girl alone!!!

    You two are different people with different interests. You need to accept this and let it go. The harder you push, the more she will resist.
