Set button not working when trying to set up garage on EasyRoller GDO 4V4?
I'm trying to set up door travel limits positions on the ATA EasyRoller GDO 4V4 automatic garage door opener because I had a big gap when my garage door was closed. While trying to set up limits positions, the Set button on the control panel isn't working and the close limit LED is blinking. I switch off the garage door opener for a few moments, turn it back on, but same result. This unit is prone to numerous hiccups, which forces me to re-do the garage settings. Any help please?

I do not have a tried and true answer but I may have information which may help:
As a preface to my observations, I am a qualified television and electronic serviceman who no longer does it professionally but did so for about 26 years. I have 2 of these units and one has never faltered; the other one goes faulty at approximatly 6 monthly intervals with a problem close to that which you describe.
In the past I have only been able to fix it by leaving the unit switched off for a period exceeding 24 hours. My reading of the problem is a design fault which allows an incorrect setting of a value in the memory for which there is no reset sequence or code. However, it appears that the incorrect voltage will eventually bleed off if the unit is switched off for long enough thus allowing the correct setting process to take place.
The most common manifestation of the problem is that the door will not go down and the fault indication is a continuously fast flashing of the (red) down LED. If you check the Force setting on the up operation you will likely find that it is maxed out and you have to virtually swing on the curtain to stop the upward movement. You can neither reduce the stop force settings or reset the factory defaults under these fault conditions.
I can assure you that the little unresponsive microswitch (Close button) is not faulty even though it appears to be.
If you need to lower the curtain under fault conditions you can either do it manually or temporarily reverse the dc feed to the motor and use the up button.
Every time it happens to me I swear to contact the manufacturer's service department and seek either the software fix or a harware solution but becuse the door eventually works and the manufacturer/distributor is not the easiest number to find, time priorities come into play.
Try the (say) 30 hour unit off period and with a touch of good luck, your fauld may be the same as mine and respond accordingly. I would be interested to find out how you go so if you care to, please email me on enyoltyme@yahoo.com.au.
Cheers,
