When will my period return?
My son will turn 1 tomorrow and I still have not had a single period since I gave birth to him 12 months ago. He would not latch for breast feeding, but I did manage to express milk for 6 months (this ended early June), so I am sure my lack of periods are not lactation related. I had issues with irregular periods, PCOS and ttc pre-pregnancy and am getting increasingly worried now. I will approach my GP in the new year. Has anyone else had this? Should I be worried? (I know it's not a good time for unprotected sex etc. just in case) but am more worried about my fertility as I am only 30. Thanks.

It's not likely to be anything to worry about. Well done for expressing milk for so long. That can't have been easy. As you said, the problem is more than likely due to lactation. Although for most women, once lactation is reduced due to weaning, periods return, this doesn't happen to everyone. Some women can take a year or more before their bodies finally get back to normal.
This isn't any reason to worry about fertility. At worse it is perhaps due to PCOS again and you've conceived once with that problem so there is no reason you won't again.
