Ladies what do you look for in a profile on online dating sites?

It's been a while, but this is what I personally would look for:

Picture

- smiling!

- flattering shot that someone else took, not some stupid self portrait in a mirror

- no one else in the photo (unless it's an animal, but not staged -- it has to be his pet, lol)

- a recent picture ... not one from 5 years ago

- no pictures at a bar or with alcohol/cigarettes/drugs in hand

Profile/Description

- proper spelling and grammar

- someone with interests similar to mine

- someone who is not overly defensive or negative (so no "I'm kind of a nerd but I try really hard" or "most girls say I talk too much" ... focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses)

- straightforward about what he wants, be it a fling, just a friend, or someone long-term; I don't want to date you only to find out you never want to have kids and I do
