    Soldier.

Soldiers are trained proficient and fight for a cause.

Warriors may or may not be trained, and do not necessarily fight for a cause.

I truly hate the term "warrior". In fact while I was in WLC, we had to right a paper on the Warrior Ethos and what it means to us for the CSM/Commandant of the RTI. My entire paper was bashing the term warrior. I hear he didn't enjoy it much.

Soldiers are the modern day warrior

    Soldiers are professionals.

    Warriors are amateurs.

    Take your pick....

@Wraeth - I had the same experience when I was told to write a paper defending the Total Army Quality program back in '89 - could not find one positive thing about TAQ and wrote a paper recommending we dump it - did not go over well with anyone but the old crusty SGL we had who thought TAQ was crap as well. I notice that we don't have TAQ around anymore either - not that I had anything to do with it.

They are the same thing. Google each one and see what you get.
