Which is better to ride in?
I am really looking for some nice boots/chaps to wear. I'm interviewing for some part time jobs as a working student, and I want to look nice and professional. I would really like to get some leather half chaps, but they're kind of expensive. After buying the paddock boots, they came out to be around $90, however the field boots cost about the same. I just want something comfortable to ride in, and have little problems with. What are your opinions on field boots or leather chaps with paddock boots?

Paddock boots and half chaps are usually more functional. Sure, field boots may look fancier, but they aren't as easy to do barn chores in. I'd much rather work in half chaps than field boots.

Have you considered synthetic half chaps? I have those and I absolutely love them. I'm predominantly a western rider, and I actually find them more comfortable than my western boots.

I'd go for the paddock boots and half chaps. They are so amazingly comfortable (I wore then five days a week for over 8 hours) and versatile. I used them for every type of riding I did. I now own a pair of field boots, but I'd take my old paddock boots and half chaps over them -any- day. For price reasons I wear my expensive Ariat Heritage Paddock boots and use cheap, Dublin Suede Half Chaps (They sometimes fall down, but they work and the zipper has never gone out). All together I paid $139 for the combo of the two, and it was worth every dollar. They fit and I can wear them for anything and any length of time in comfort. Where as wearing tall boots all day would have murdered my feet and the nice boots.
If you're showing however you might want to invest in the field boots.

honestly for your job interviews try to look as professional as possible for the interview definitely tall boots and breeches but just working horses or doing chores go for comfy and functional like half chaps and paddock boots but look at it as a regular job interview always be a little bit over dressed than what the job requires in and out of a barn and ebay hellooo used boots cheap cheap cheap! and if they don't fit resell them!! lol :p hope this helps some good luck
