How can i find an old friend?

i lost contact with an old friend and i'm trying to get back in contact with them. I was thinking about using face book, but i'm not sure how i'd do it. I dont remember the last name only the first.

    In Facebook you can search your friends by cities, schools, colleges, countries. I think you will definitly him on Facebook if they had Facebook id.

    Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, etc. Try all the social networks and with luck you'll find their photo or search or common friends on Facebook.

    There are also paid services and high school reunion services. Maybe a yearbook of its a school friend as well.

    go volunteer at a nursing home and make friends with one of the residents
