  • How much better would the economy be if the E.U. problem was solved.?

It seems like many economist keep referring to the economic crisis in Europe and how it is hindering economic growth in america and other parts of the world. they continue to illustrate how if the Domino affect in Europe takes affect then what little growth the U.S. has seen will be destroyed and that the U.S. would see a much worse economy.

What happened if the E.U. just started booting out broke countries like Greece, Ireland, Portugal, and Italy? Would the economy in the U.S. be more likely to progress or would it and the EU economy further deteriorate?

Why aren't the economies in Japan and Australia seeing the same issues? (i know japan suffered from the rupture of the internet bubble and the so called "lost generation" in the 1990's and 2000's)

  • Job Conscription???...............…?

I know the U.S. Government says it wouldn't reinstate wartime conscription unless its really needed, but with the high unemployment rates couldn't it be possible to "conscript" people to fill certain jobs.

Couldn't the government to come up with major job creating projects or see what critical professions the country is lacking in (doctors, engineers, teachers, chemist, etc.) and create/ fill job spots with laid off workers.

i'm sure if they revitalized a impoverished city like detroit and bring back the auto plants, they could find many people who got laid off in other parts of the country.

Many people don't want to get drafted into the military, but if they knew they were going to get a well paying job i'm sure many people wouldn't mind getting their number called.

The government spends millions and even billions on drafting people for military service, why couldn't they spend that much money on revitalizing the economy and stimulating job growth throughout the country.

    - just an idea

  • U.S./ Iranian tensions and Britain?

With all the high tensions between Iran and the U.S. lately, If the Americans were to go to war with the Iranians Would Britain really have to go to war along side the U.S.? I mean we are dealing with the financial crisis in the EU and Iran hasn't really taken a TRUE interest in the UK, Could we just stay neutral and try to sort out our troubles and just play a minor support role or something?

  • Why is the U.S. Military becoming more and more dependent on private contractors instead of its own personnel?

Why is it that active duty forces have been deployed and redeployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan without sufficient dwell time; the National Guard and Reserve have been transformed from a strategic to an operational reserve, alternating deployments with active forces; and private contractors have been tasked with filling in the gaps, often taking on missions traditionally reserved for uniformed forces.

Many of the killings and other incidents in Iraq and Afghanistan such as the torture at Abu Ghraib and Bagram Air Base to the indiscriminate shootings at Nisour Square in Baghdad in 2007.

have been the result of contractors and are arguably the most detrimental to the U.S. and ISAF mission in both countries.

Why is the U.S. military so dependent on these contractors to carry out so many basic logistical and tactical duties that used to be filled by a large and ready force of U.S. MILITARY PERSONNEL

  • is this a good idea??? Any advice?

I have small/ major a debt of $400 and can't afford to pay by getting a job because i'm not old enough. I am thinking of playing off the laziness of my fellow classmates and charging to complete various assignments. Any ideas or advice?

  • how can i pay off this debt?

This may seem like a low amount but i have $400.00 debt that needs to get paid off, not that i spen a lot its just i have my own wacky system of recovering money i've spent ($1 spent $5 make back, $10 spent $30 make back).

I'm $400 in the hole and not quite old enough to get a job and my parents don't really do the whole "do your chores get $50" type thing so please just give me some ideas, i want to get the debt down to at least $120

    Thanks

  • What sounds better for a first date?

Its not really date just more of something to do together to kill time and get to know each other, alright yeah sure fine a date whatever, but anyways would it be better to take bowling, to the movies, i live near a air base so there will be an air show in a week with a whole bunch of military planes and stuff, and there's also the possibility of going to library cause she likes to read and is pretty nerdy an such. I could also take her skating at the skating rink so yeah those are my options.

Which one would you rather do ?

  • How have the ways of forming a relationship change over time?

How is our modern way of finding and approaching someone different from how people would start relationships in the 50's or so on? Is it that were more technologically based on seeking information to devise plans and too shy and petrified of how were going to start convos or something?

What sets this generation of lovers apart from the previous generation?

  • What do you think the U.S. response would be if a superpower country invaded it?

I was just thinking about Modern Warfare and how the Russians invaded the U.S. so swiftly and how they devastated the eastern sea board with such ease and how every where you looked you would see russian paratroopers in the horizon and BTRs all up and down the streets.

How would that play out in the real world, would their be a draft, how would we produce such a massive arsenal such as what we saw in World War 2 with such a troubling economy? Would NATO join us or would they just ***** up and leave us hanging in the wind, would the NATO countries want U.S. territory or U.S. resources for their help?
