what do you need to be to go into agriculture?

What do you mean by going into agriculture??? Joining FFA, 4-H or just getting into farming or other agricultural businesses???

Farming is a lot of hard work and usually can't be done alone on larger farms. Many farmers are fortunate enough to have friends that will help them out. I live on a smaller farm but I also help out a lot of the farmers around my area such as chicken, dairy, beef cattle, sheep, and tobacco farms.

You definitely need to be an outdoors kinda person. Don't mind getting dirty and can handle stressful situations because I can promise, things hardly ever wanna work out right on farms. It costs a lot of money to run a farm and if you're not producing correctly you will not make a profit. If you know what you are doing then farming can be fun. I love the work I do, and though it makes me wanna pull my hair out sometimes, I don't mind it.

If you love raising animals then farming is good thing to get into. Unless you don't think you can handle having to sell them. As far as attitude, the best farmers I know have a "It's a new day. Let's get to work and see what can wrong today" attitude only they laugh about it. They don't sit there and stress themselves over it. It's the life we chose to live and that's how we take it.
