wow, Mythbusters Threatened NOT to show episode about RFID chips?

Here is a clip of Adam talking about how Texas instruments and allot of lawyers ambushed the Mythbusters and threatened them NOT to air an episode about how faulty and easily hacked the RFID is .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq7kBhts9a8

what the chip is and some of it's uses:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio-frequency_ident...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microchip_implant_(hu...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_identity_the...

it's also used in credit cards, pass ports, dogs and cats, and has been talked about for use in humans that could be at a risk of getting lost due to mental issues and illnes.

any thoughts, good, bad, pro, con?

i'm a bit hesitant to buy in, i see a huge potential for abuse here, emiting, (or traceable) RF signals would be like having cash sticking out of your pocket in a crowded bar.......

I placed this in the polital section because I'm more interested in a POV toward peoples thoughts about political ramnifications and abuses. I see this as the new possible (Auschwitz Tattoo).

Mark of the beast man! There are people in congress who are pro RFID and want to see the population tagged. It is a scary scenario. I am not surprised that they would not let them make that show. Just goes to show how the corporations own the American People.

Like it or not, it really doesn't matter. Most of us know about it already, and the info isn't hard to find. This is what makes me think a lot of people just aren't interested, or they actually seem to support the rise of the dictatorship that is to come. Already we've seen the social engineering begin, which happened so far every single time, and just like always, it has been complete with propoganda, media reports about just how horrible people are (but somehow society is "good" when discussing stripping individual rights but also "to blame" when also convenient to strip away individual rights and freedoms) and the list goes on. Blacklisting TV? Nothing new. And becoming a lot more common.

There lies, in any system, the potential for abuse. Those systems, no matter how advanced, are only as secure as the people running them. They have integrity only so long as the people running them do. If Myth Busters were to prove conclusively, that the system can be compromised, those who stand to profit the most, will lose the most. If there is no conclusive proof that it can be compromised, then they can run a publicity campaign to show the world how safe their system is, even if it isn't. They have more money than those who seek to expose them.
