"No form of political organization is immune to cruel abuses like the Jim Crow laws, whereby government sets out to legislate on how groups of human beings are allowed to interact with one another.

The only way racism can be overcome is through the philosophy of individualism, which I have promoted throughout my life. Our rights come to us not because we belong to some group, but our rights come to us as individuals. And it is as individuals that we should judge one another.

Racism is a particularly odious form of collectivism whereby individuals are treated not on their merits but on the basis of group identity. Nothing in my political philosophy, which is the exact opposite of the racial totalitarianism of the twentieth century, gives aid or comfort to such thinking. To the contrary, my philosophy of individualism is the most radical intellectual challenge to racism ever posed.

Government exacerbates racial thinking and undermines individualism because its very existence encourages people to organize along racial lines in order to lobby for benefits for their group. That lobbying, in turn, creates animosity and suspicion among all groups, each of which believes that it is getting less of its fair share than the others.

Instead, we should quit thinking in terms of race and recognize that freedom and prosperity benefit all Americans." -Ron Paul, ‘The Revolution: A Manifesto'

I think there is a big difference between not supporting the bleeding of US dollars into the political state of Israel and hating Jews. I know Jews who don't agree with this policy, and I do not either. You cannot be taking care of another person's house when you own is on fire.

I also think all people are guilty of being unreasonable from time to time. It was not so long ago when open homophobia was common among people who would have called themselves enlightened. Our parents remember a time when it was common and acceptable, if not outright encouraged, to not consort with black people. The cultural background of the age people live in influences them and, while this does not necessarily excuse all behaviors, does give us reason to be patient with the natural growth a person has to experience throughout their lives.

In the case of Ron Paul, I am willing to be pretty forgiving as he is not a career criminal as %90 of the rest of congress and the past million Presidents we've had. Not everyone would agree with me but I think he's earned a degree of credibility, even though I do not see eye to eye with him on all of his talking points. We could do far worse, than him; Romney or Obama both come to mind.

In looking at his voting record and researching what former co-workers have said about Dr. Paul, it's hard to believe he would have been okay with any racist or anti-Jewish statements.

Here's what some people don't get...

Dr. Paul does not believe we should interfere with the politics of other countries. The Constitution advises us to trade with all countries but stay away from political entanglements. That means no undeclared wars and no foreign aid (which often land us in undeclared wars). So people see that he would allow Israel to stand on her own and they interpret this as anti-Jewish.

Dr. Paul believes there should not be specific rights/regulations/rules/exceptions for different groups. When we have one set of rules for gay people, another for black people, another for disabled people - that is inherently discriminatory. Instead, let's realize people are people and treat everyone fairly. And when someone is treated unfairly, we'll deal with it.

As for the newsletters, I don't believe he wrote them or approved of them. It's simply not consistent with who he is. Every candidate has a fringe contingency.

If the only thing they have against Ron Paul are some newsletters from 20 years ago that he didn't read or write, I'd say he's pretty much clean.

    Ancient History,

What ever is in the news letters, who wrote them and why, Ron Paul's focus at that time. He has denied authorship, he disavows them, he excepts moral responsibility because they were published in his name and he did make money from the publications.

He has repeated it over and over and over to the press but they keep on at him about it. Ron Paul is not a racist, many blacks that know him praise him and defend him against the accusations. What more do you want to know?

How long are you and the news media going to beat this dead horse?

He walked out on the CNN reporter because he answered her question, she rephrased the question and he re-answered it. She continued to push him about the subject.

They are still making a big deal about him walking out on her. Someone needs to make a big deal about her rudeness and attempts to browbeat Ron Paul.

watch the video and see for yourself.

He recently supported a candidate for governor of Alabama who was a member of League of the South. A group supported by the KKK, they believe in sending people to Africa, legalize slavery, deny women votes, dropout of the union. Paul came to the Alabama conventions and supported him. Now if that is not racist what is.

If Gingrich or one other were to have had their name attached to those news letters the paulies would be crying about them.

You think that is bad, wait until they get ahold of his finances.

One Paulbot said it is ancient history. So are some of Gingrichs mistakes. So were some of Cains mistakes. I bet you sure like to go after Bush. But that is okay since they are not the geriatric messiah.

Yes. If a Democrat were accused of this the same people that support Paul would be screaming.
