BQ - What other Rock covers of Blues songs do you like

Will try to answer in a bit, have to run off for an hour and I'm right back!! =D
Otis Rush, a very nice tune. The intro reminds me of Michelle by The Beatles for some strange reason. "I love you I love you I love youuu" lol. Than that searing energetic voice kick in and you know you're up for a ride! Nimble piano run and nice bluesy guitar with long bents to follow up the vocals.

Led Zeppelin is an amazing cover obviously. But I'd much rather hear OR because it flows so smoothly. I prefer hard rock from Zep and the song really fit's the 50's blues style the best.
Smokestack Lightning is a happy go lucky tune and I just LOVE his smoked raspy vocals and playful falsetto. A very fun listen, really sounds like a Howlin Wolf (first association w/o seeing the title). Started dancing along to it lol very fun.
The Yard Birds hit you with 'in your face' guitar work and whiny vocals lol. Very groovy, would have liked a bit tighter rhythm section but the sax is cool. Some pounding drums you got there. Still I prefer Smokestack's unique vocal style.
Sonny opens up with a screaming harmonica which sets you going, started laughing at the lyrics and vocals though ;) Ten years has some killer riffs and the vocals are nasty (in a good way). Well, I'm a metal fan so Ten Years kick my butt harder :D This version will likely get most replays from all the songs till now.
Hooker opens up with a very convincing narration lol he's quiet the orator!! I'm fukcin mad at my woman now - WOMAAAN!! BRING YOU SORRY ARSS HERE!!! xD
Ahhaa... LOVE the Animals... that one should be tough... Eric has a very strong, convincing voice as well. The song picks up dramatically and quiet dramatic with some frantic keyboard work and vocals to boot. Though it'd be impossible.... but The Animals WIN!! Hooker is quiet the hooker though :P
Last one? Aww man I was enjoying myself!! This one's has a strange kinda vocals... I like it. No idea what he's rumbling about but the song's cool haha :D
Eric Clapton... very long song. The drums make themselves immediately apparent, albeit the simple beats. Nice nuanced guitar but I think he could stay quiet cuz his vox don't do much. Whilst on the other version they were basking in the sunlight :D
Guitar work isn't beating around the bush. Enjoyed this one the least and didn't like either version too much although I loved Clapton's guitar and Robert's vox but the whole thing just doen't *click* and I think Clapton abused the song too much... to long bro.

Awwww, gawd, it's so hard to choose!
1. Led Zep by about half a point...only, I think because that's the one I'm most familiar with...
2. Love this song immensely, between the two, I've gotta go with the WOLF...now if you had a WHO cover up there....
3. Sonny Boy, nothing like that harmonica <3
4. Both are fantastic...who's better than John Lee? Props to Dave, Eric DOES have a fabulous blues voice...tie for me
5. Robert Johnson...FTW although the EC cover is irresistable!
BA: I've always dug this Lead Belly cover:

I'm with all the originals on this one, nothing compares to a great down to earth blues, song, I would have went for the Animals, cause Burdon has one of the best if not best blues voices for covering the blues, the reason I did not pick the Animals had more to do with the music, but not trying to compare it to the original its a great number by the animals, in fact all the covers are great for what they are, but as I said nothing makes me feel better than the down to earth raw blues.
The Rolling Stones - Love in Vain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao9Rbr7uybQ
Robert Johnson, 'Love in Vain' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnsBlY4rKwM
Just lesten to the feel by Johnson, and it flows so easy, and it is aimed straigt at the heart. Even though I love the Stones version, it just does not have this feel.
I would list some more mike, but if I do, I may never listen to the covers anymore.
take care

Eric Clapton...The slow build-up with each key change.
A great example of how changing keys enhances a song.
