Plugged in, not charging?
I own a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. One day i came home and i noticed on my laptop that when i plugged in my ac cord, it wouldn't charge. So i changed ac cords with a friend of mine and it wouldn't charge either. I thought it was a battery problem, so i went and i bought myself a replacement battery on eBay for 20$. It came and i plugged it in. But when the battery was almost dead, it wouldn't charge. So i knew it wasn't the battery or the ac cord. Please any solutions

Its the charger. Switching chargers doesnt verify anything. If anything, it verifies that different chargers dont work on all laptops. Each laptop has a specific charger it needs. The reason why Im so sure its the charger is because you said you got a new battery the laptop still wouldnt charge the battery. This is because the laptop ran off the battery and not the charger/battery. The laptop ran off the power that was on the battery when you first received it. I would suggest you look into getting a new charger as soon as possible. Make sure you get one from a reliable source instead of a cheap knock off on like ebay or something. I would personally suggest you visit topmic charger. They are very reputable and have great service. They include free shipping, 30 days money back guarantee, and free lifetime warranty so if the charger ever stops working, they would replace it at no additional cost, for life.

Hello,
The issue you are experiencing is actually caused by a failed power Daughter Board on the Inspiron 1525 / 1526 series. You have basically ruled out the other two components that could be at fault - so i am definitely confident this is the component that is the root of your trouble. Fixing it does not require any soldering skills, just a small Phillips head screwdriver, a good quality replacement, and some patience.

This is just a guess, but it could be a problem with the port that connects the laptop to the ac cable. I have had bad experiences with Dell laptops that have had problems with the ac cable port. If it is broken, you would have to have it replaced by either the company itself, or take it to someone who knows what they are doing and have the old one removed and a new one soldered in place.
Another problem it could be is outside of the computer completely. Have you tested the outlet itself to make sure that it is still working?

My old Mac stopped charging, too. it was plugged in and everything, but it would not charge. I don't know if your computer has the same problem, but for me it seemed like the problem was the port. The only thing that seemed to work was either unplugging and replugging the charger repeatedly until it began to charge (weird, I know, but it seemed to work) and keeping my computer on a flat surface helped some. Since it looks like you've replaced all the parts that may have been broken, you might want to check that the port isn't deformed, broken, or full of dust.
