My kitty has ear mites...and I need to give her Revolution...how long do i need to keep her on it?

I see that you can get 3 packs...but do i just do it for 3 months or should she always be on it? The vet recommended Revolution for her but only gave me enough for 3 months..and that was last year. I tried to get more from my vet and they refused saying i have to bring my kitty in and they wont give me more to treat my other kitty without seeing him too...I dont have enough money to take both kitties in and pay for both office visits plus the medicine. I sometimes think my vet does this to just get money out of me. I saw online that I can buy the medicine but I wasnt sure how long my kitty needs to be on it.

Any information is appreciated...thank you. :)

Since Revolution also treats fleas and prevents heartworms, it's probably a good idea to keep them on it year-round. Some vets will sell flea prevention without seeing the animal so call around to different vets and check.

No, she doesn't need to be on it all the time. You treat the mites, they die and your done- unless she gets them again.

Do they have mites now? It will look like coffee grounds in their ears. If they do, they need the meds, if not they're fine.

And Don't get the over the counter stuff you can buy online or at the store, they don't work and you'll end up going to the vet anyway.

one application will get rid of the pests--if your cats are indoor cats they will only need the one treatment for each--if they are outdoor cats they will keep getting pests so you will need to dose pretty much each month...so yes-you'd need to go to the vet for that.
