Labor but hospital sent me home?
I'm 37 weeks and 4 days and I sex around 2pm today (currently 9pm here) since about 20 min after sex I started having contractions and about 45 min after they were every 2.5 to 3 minutes apart and lasting 55 seconds to 85 seconds so for 2 hours of that I went to labor and delivery and was dilated to a 3 only and didnt progress any after an hour so they sent me home and now my contractions are 3 to 4 min apart and still lasting 55 to 85 seconds apart. I have back labor again with this pregnancy and im just miserable. Does anyone know how to help with the pain? Tylenol isnt working and warm baths seem to help some with the pain but im on my third bath and cant just stay in here all night. Should I wait until my water breaks to go back to the hospital? My mom drove an hour to help out with my son even though he knows something is going on and wants me only. The hospital is only about 4 blocks from my apartment.

I would wait until you cannot bear the pain anymore, if you can manage to even get in the bath then your definately not in unbearable pain.
walk around the house, keep mobile as that will make you dilate quicker, drink plenty and wait for either your waters to break or the pain to get worse

if they are about five minutes apart i would say go ahead and go to the hospital again. when you can. keep walking and if you don't have a yoga ball to lean forward on to then get on your knees and lean forward to rest your arms and head on a couch seat. it will help take some of the pressure off of your back. whatever you do DO NOT tense into the contractions and if you can keep saying to your self baby come out. that's what i did with my first and he was only a 10 hour labor. still working on the second thoe. congratulations and i hope everything go's well.

I had back labor with my 2nd child. Have someone press pressure to your lower back while you have contractions. I had natural births with all 3 of my children. If you can make it without pain meds. Then yah, I would wait til my water broke if I lived that close. I live over an hour away from the closest hospital.

Your water might never break - general rule of thumb is long, strong and frequent - when they knock you to your knees, takes away your breath and are 4 mins apart consistently for an hour go back - when the pains are too strong and painful to ignore THAT'S when you go back

try walking to help the labor get going faster, and if you feel u need to go to the hospital go ahead and go. If u get sent home again, try walking around the hospital, they'll let u do that, that way ur already there in case it speed up!
