Would my iPhone idea work?
Recently I've been wanting to buy an iPhone, but the price per month of a smart phone gets to me. I was looking at costs for an iPhone: minutes, messaging, data. I figured since now with apps, you can call and text people with wifi (data), could I purchase an iPhone (full price), get just data per month, and then use apps like skype or stuff to do testing and calling? Is data by itself available to the iPhone just like the iPad? Would my plan work, and are there any problems with my plan?

The texting and data yes, but im not sure about the calling because you would still have to go threw a provider and they all require a min of a calling plan
