Make it $70 and you can make a SWEET tank for your beta. That should house to females or 1 male

That tank looks nice, but I would just go buy an ordinary 5 gallon kit at Walmart for $30. You can't really put that on just any old shelf, it will weigh more than 50 pounds when filled! You need to situate aquariums on something that can support their weight properly.
Remember, you have to buy gravel, silk plants and decor, and a heater, too! You will also need a gravel vacuum, water test kit, and some other odds and ends.
I will happily give you the best piece of advice that anyone can give to a new hobbyist: Go to a book store and/or public library, and get some beginner's aquarium keeping books. Also look for at least one on Bettas. You need to learn how to properly set up and cycle the tank, do routine maintenance, and a host of other things. Fish keeping isn't exactly rocket science, but there is more to it than "just add water!" A properly kept Betta should live at least 5 years!
Good luck!

One male should be good i prefer to use gravel bettas r tropical so you need a heater i feed my angels and tetras flakes but vatiety diet helps do 10-15% water changes every week and dont overfeed. Ive had bettas before fun easy rewording if you can keep it healthy.

well, unfortuantly i am not an expert with fish, i don't know what the best is, because i don't know how many fish you want... but you want to start out with like 4-6 fish, and get more over time, but, if you go to the right store they will thell you the best beginners fish, maybe some mollys, or guppys, no snails, because there is no algie at the beginning !!! and just a hint, you may already know but, the water SHOULD, become foggy, and it will clear up in a few days, but im only telling you this, because when it happened to me, i freaked out, yeah, soooo, hope this helped!!!
