In Texas, how long does a parent pay child support on an autistic child?

If a parent has had no visitation, no contact, (absolutely no relationship, information, or records on said child). The child is 18, the mother is a Professional, and the father is unemployed and on disability. How long does the disabled parent continue to pay?

From what I've read that is determined on a case by case basis.

Furthermore the courts won't care about the labels you are using. It is entirely possible for a person that is collecting disability to have a larger income than someone who is considered a "professional"

My sister in law was in that same position... her ex was injured at work and ended up with a very large disability settlement that gave him an income almost double what she made as a secretary. He tried pretending to be poor all the time as well.

It is determinant on the case. In my grandson's case, as he gets SSI, the child support will stop at age 19. The father lives in Texas.

If a father is unemployed, and a 99 weeker, he has no income and the amount owed can be set to zero. That is becoming common in this MANcession.

For 22 years, I have volunteered my time working with divorced/single fathers dealing in family law issues, such as child support, teaching them about what the states are not telling support obligors.

It depends upon the extent of the disability.
