I'm adopted, and I want to find my birth parents.?
I live in PA, and I'm not sure what the laws are or how I would go about getting any information about finding out who my parents are. My adoptive parents are both deceased, and my blood sibling that we're adopted with me know as much as I do. Is there any way to find anything about my life before I was adopted. Where do I start??

The laws are changing regarding adoption records, so start by Googling adoption records + the state where you were adopted. You may be able to find a name or names on your true birth certificate or other information. Pennsylvania has an intermediary program open only to adoptees. This means an individual will contact the birth family to allow them to contact you.
There are many resources for finding birth parents such as registries where families can look for each other. Your birth mother may already be looking for you. CyndisList Adoption is a great place to start..

http://familytimeline.webs.com/adoptionlivingrelat... 'American adoption help' some limited help on here....you need to find out where to ask to get your file open...
In the Uk it is easy you contact the local council social services department, speak to a social worker, have an interview and counselling and your file is given to you once you are 'of age' ( over 18) although ther e are some moves to get it at 16 as in many respects in the UK 16 is of age................
