which is the latest and the best free antivirus?

If you are using window, you can try MSE. It provide the most complete coverage on security. However it slow down my computer too much. Also like other Microsoft program, it is not easy to use.

Other like AVG and avast provide basic protection. However it is not one program fix all solution. You will also need spyware protection and firewall.

I use this combination AVG (antiviurs) + spybot (anti spyware) + zonealarm (firewall). Didn't have a problem in the last 3 years

Newest AV that I know of is MSE, but microsoft can hardly make an OS that is stable. I suggest Avast, very good AV for free:
