  • Can I trust you?

Should I just sit back and relax knowing that you're here, or should I be worried?

  • Don't we get to see who rated our answers any more?

I've noticed that the identity of who TU'd an answer has been missing for a while now and assumed it was another Y!A glitch, or is this another change that has been made to this apparently faultless format?

  • Why did Y!A expose my real name?

I once had a user name that Y!A seemed to like to continually change to '?' so I decided to go with the flow and just leave it at that '?' I have been for a long time now. I just answered a couple of questions and suddenly realised, much to my displeasure, that '?' had been replaced with my real name. Any thoughts as to why they did this, you may be able to tell from my amended name that I don't!

This is not my question, I attempted to answer it and found that it had been deleted and I really can't see why, any thoughts?

Am I a hypocrite if I do the surgery?

I'm thinking of getting a eyelid surgery I was supposed to get done as a baby. My parents thought my sight was effected bc of my eyes since they didn't open much, and I have no eyelids, turns out it wasn't but the doctor recommended a surgery I can do to open my eyes more. My parents didn't do it as I was still a baby.

I don't support plastic surgery unless it is medically needed but the way I see my surgery is that I would already have it done now if I did it as a baby. Would I be a hypocrite if I do the surgery and would my eyes be considered fake?

It's not something I just thought of now bc I don't like the way it looks. I have wanted it since I was a little girl, when my parents first told me about the surgery I was supposed to get. I don't consider it the same as getting a nose job or your breasts done bc of the background behind it.

  • What does everyone think of this reaction?

What do you think of this reaction in 'Additional Details' to a few people taking part in what seemed to be a bit of harmless fun in a survey?

  • Windows 7 task bar has moved?

How did I manage to move my task bar from the bottom of the screen (where I feel it belongs) to standing upright on the right hand side of my screen where it looks ridiculous and how do I put it back? I was going to experiment and try to work it out myself but then thought, just once, ask first. Thanks for any help.

  • Windows 7 Games problems?

I am using Windows 7 Professional 64bit and all the installed games such as 'FreeCell, Solitaire, Spider Solitaire and Hearts' are malfunctioning. They all 'flicker' to some extent particularly if I click on 'Game' in the top left corner, and will quite often freeze if I try to close them. Generally they just don't work. I have other games installed on my system such as 'Microsoft Flight Simulator X' and a few others of that nature and have no problems with them at all. All the advice I can find on the internet seems to relate to 'aftermarket' game problems and not the ones that come with Windows, any thoughts?

  • Any thoughts as to why Windows 7 won't restart?

I have 'Windows 7 Professional' and the entire setup is completely new, my problem is that each time I need to restart the system after installing software or updates I have to shut down the computer completely and turn off the power at the wall for a couple of minutes before '7' will start again. If I don't do this and just click on 'restart' it quickly flicks through a couple of screens (probably bios and boot, they are a bit fast to read) as normal and then I just get a flashing white line about 15mm long and 40mm from the top left of my monitors. Any ideas as to how I might rectify this would be greatly appreciated as it's starting to give me the '....s'.

  • Help me find an Uninterruptable Power Supply, Please!?

Can anyone recommend some UPS brands & models that would suit my needs, I have been searching websites and not really coming up with the information I am looking for, asking the supplier or manufacturer seems to be pointless as they want to recommend whatever they have in stock or want to get rid of!

My system uses about 200w normally and is pretty much maxed out at 300w if I load up everthing I can at once. (I still want to leave some room for any possible future expansion without going completely overboard) I am using 'Windows 7 Professional' 64bit and would like something with

    1.Surge and lightning protection.

2.Voltage regulation (over and under correction)

3.The ability to maintain the system for brief power interruptions (eg.up to 5mins)

4.Will shut down the computer before the battery is depleted but not restart it as most of my power interruptions seem to be just before I leave for work and I don't want the system restarting when I'm not here.

    5. Availability in Australia.

    6. Here's the tricky one, a sensible price tag. ($200 AUD. or less would be great.)

Thanks for any suggestions "?" (Yahoo called me "?" they seem to have misplaced my name!)

  • What is the best email service for Windows 7?

I'm about to set up a new computer with "Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) and was wondering what would be the best email client to use? I would like something similar to "Microsoft Outlook" which I have been using for about the last 7 years and am quite used to, something that can be opened from a "Desktop Icon" rather than having to open a browser first would be good,

    Thanks for any advice given.

  • Can't remove old drivers to install new video card?

I am using both Windows XP and 7 O/S installed on 2 separate internal drives, Windows 7 is totally unimpressed with my archaic video card and drivers and I obviously need to upgrade. However when I try to uninstall the drivers from XP to prepare to fit my new card I get the message " Failed to uninstall the device. The device may be required to boot up the computer." The drivers are in device manager under display adapters as ~ "NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/ Model 64 Pro" Any suggestions as to what I should do from here would be greatly appreciated.

PS. Un-installing the drivers from Windows 7 is as simple as I assumed it should be.

  • Video card 'Driver' question? (Probably embarrassing)?

Try to not laugh at my naivety, but if I uninstall the drivers for my current video card to fit a new card and then restart my computer, what will drive the new card so that I can see the display to download and install the drivers. I am assuming that it will operate at a limited capacity until I install the drivers but I'd just like some reassurance of that before I proceed.

  • Can I 'LOCK' drive letters in Windows XP?

I am using Windows XP 2000 Professional and on occasions when I add or remove USB devices or cards in my reader Windows sees fit to rearrange my external hard drive partition letters, I store practically all of my pictures, music & files on these drives & need to keep the letters as they originally were or my programs cannot find the data. Is there any way I can stop windows changing them as it gets a bit monotonous checking them and changing them back all the time?

  • Why don't I have a 'B' Drive?

I realize I'm probably a bit slow to just notice this, but it has it suddenly occurred to me that with all my drives, partitions and removable devices associated with my computer I have everything from 'A' to 'T' but no 'B'. Is there a reason for this or are computers just superstitious about the letter 'B'?

  • Do you use a program called "File Janitor"?

Has anyone used this software and if so did yours come with instructions? I have just installed this freeware and it appears to be what I was after but I don't want to release it onto all my files without some sort of insight on how to drive it! I found an instructional video on You Tube by the creator but I think it was originally in French (no good to me) and I ended up with no sound at all and the video was so blurry that it told me nothing. If someone knows a link to a manual that would be great but even a couple of basic pointers would give me some level of confidence to let this thing loose.

  • How much Data does a Webcam conversation use?

I was wondering what sort of data transfer rate would be considered normal for a 2 way video conversation using an average set up and also what would be a good camera, software and service provider (skype, yahoo etc.) to use?
