Currently the world's largest fish is the whale shark (Rhincodon typus) averaging 31 feet in length and 9 tonnes (20,000lb!) in weigh. The largest fish ever was (whether it's actually extinct is under debate) the Megalodon (Carcharodon Megalodon), an enormous shark reaching possible lengths of 50-60 feet and weighing an estimated average of 59 tonnes (130,000lb).
