How to use downloader? *Details below?

I recently download Free Download Manager but I don't know how to use it [LOL!]. For example, I want to download a file sized 600 Mb. I copy-paste the link to Free Download Manager box [add download > paste the link]. Problem is, it only downloads the host page [exe.html], not the file. So, the download is finished at 50 Kb which says download complete [100%].

Update:

To Jason : I am using Free Download Manager - that's the name of the downloader. www.freedownloadmanager.com.

To Anup : Yes, I used to use JD and it was perfect until I clicked on something that I cannot fix :(

Ok, this is a common problem. What you need to do is keep clicking until you get to a page that says "Your download will start shortly, if it doesn't click this link." you'll want to right click on that link. Unfortunately since I don't know which downloader you are using I can't be more specific, but there should be an option in the context menu.

Because you need to get the URL of the file itself
