If someone thinks statistical improbabilities disprove evolution, do they think all lotteries are rigged, too?
If I throw am open bag of flour in the air, the exact pattern it lands in will be astronomically unlikely. Does that mean it required divine intervention to get just that pattern?

No, because in reality, they have no idea about statistics.
Loved your analogy, BTW.

They are looking back assuming that there was an end target adn that they are it.
Like your bag of flour. The probability of getting that exact pattern once it has landed is astronomic. But once the bag is in the air the probability of getting some pattern is 1:1.
They do not see the difference between predicting a pattern before the bag lands and seeing a pattern after the bag lands.
They tend to use terrible math and false assumptions as well.
Probably the best example to help them understand, or of their thinking, is the puddle of water, lying in a hollow that thinks that there must be a god - because the rock has been shaped so perfectly to fit it's form.

You are failing to grasp the scope of the statistical improbabilities. This is nothing like a lottery. First, can we even quantitate the probably of life arising from non-life? Is there some statistical value that can be attached to pixy dust. We are speaking of irrationality, not statistical probabilities.
Second, evolution requires that information be added to the genome. To get from a single celled organism to a human being, enormous quantities of information must be added to the genome. I'm talking of mind staggering amounts of information as I'm sure you can well imagine. Yet, there is no known observable process by which new genetic information can be added to the genetic code of an organism.
Please stop for a moment and think.

You almost gave yourself the answer in your question.
If something is statistically improbable it is unlikely. It doesn't mean it is impossible.
A very good book I read a long time ago compared the evolutionary probability to the same likelihood of an explosion happening in a junk yard and resulting in a fully function brand new Chevy Malibu.
Unlikely

I think improbability helps prove evolution. Sure its highly unlikely that a planet with land and liquid oceans, a perfect axis tilt, and a large moon to keep it in check exists, but there are hundreds of billions of stars in each galaxy and there are hundreds of billions of galaxys, so what are odds that something like this wouldn't happen somewhere else too.

Very good point Neal.
It also goes with Christians and other religions having exactly the same probabilities as any one else of surviving a natural disaster as anyone.

Strawman Arguementation, The evidence for evolution is and has been interpreted from a Philosophical and ideological Bias, The answers given by adherents to Evolution here in R&S is proof of the bias and agenda, Atheism has to have an alternate explanation—other than a Creator—for how the universe and life came into existence.
Darwin once identified himself as a Christian but as a result of some tragedies that took place in his life, he later renounced the Christian faith and the existence of God. Evolution was invented by an atheist.
What is sad is that Christians are falling into this Trap and trying to fit evolution into the Bible (Theistic Evolution) thinking they can make it fit.
Lee Stroble in his video listed below stated (5 min. 28 sec into the video) That “There is no way you can Harmonize Neo Darwinism with Christianity, I could never understand Christians who would say “ Well I believe in God yet I believe in Evolution as well” You see Darwin’s idea about the development of life led to his theory that modern science now generally defines as an undirected process completely devoid of any purpose or plan,”. Now how could God direct an undirected process? How could God have purpose in a plan behind a system that has no plan and no purpose? It just does not make sense.
It didn’t make sense to me in 1966 and it doesn’t make sense to me now.
The Apostle Paul wrote to His Son Timothy stating that “ in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, [because] they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn [their] ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”
Those Christians who believe in evolution have no idea how that effects their theology.

Don't use flour, use sand. Flour can be blown away with a tiny bit of a breeze and that will be a reason from them claiming god has breathed on it and done that.

To creationists who shop up with the undertaking of evolution that's no longer information because of the fact it became into already documented over a decade in the past. i'm happy you published the object link. My close by newspaper revealed a shorter edition of that article. If I had no longer study the longer article you linked to i would not have study that the college professor ADMITTED that, "They nonetheless have some UNDISCOVERED ancestor that probable lived 2 million to 3 million years in the past, a time that has no longer LEFT lots FOSSIL checklist," so which you would be able to desire to objectively know that the above assertion exhibits which you would be able to desire to have blind faith and have self belief that there could desire to be some type of unknown ancestor even nonetheless there is not any foundation or info of it. info isn't mandatory for many of evolutionary concept to be time-honored. I continually ask your self why maximum atheists or agnostics do no longer in basic terms say something greater honest like, " ok God does exists yet i do no longer desire to settle for Him," particularly of attempting to cajole themselves and others to settle for a thought that has no observable info of transmutation of species and is going against the reality that considerable varieties of species are discovered completely progressed at the same time interior the earliest fossil checklist without predecessors- the Cambrian Explosion that's hardly defined via evolutionists. thank you for the positioned up!

I will tell you what. If the flour in the bag turns into living material and survives for "billions" of years, then come talk to me.
