Can my cedar allergy cause a swollen lymph node?
For the past few days I've had some strange symptoms. I know I have a cedar allergy and the count has been moderate to high over the past few days, but I've had new symptoms that I'm not sure are caused by the cedar pollen.
Jaw pain, severe headache, eye pain (shooting, like someone is sticking a knife through my eye then pulling it out really fast), ear pain (sort of the same as the eye pain) and swelling and just yesterday one of my lymph nodes (left side under ear behind jaw) swelled up slightly. I was just wondering if these symptoms could also be associated with the cedar fever.

Certainly the swollen lymph nodes, because I too experience that with my allergy. Eye pain and headaches are also common, however, i've never heard of ear pain.... you may want to check with your doctor. With an allergy or foreign body in your system, it is a natural reaction for your white blood cells to engulf and absorb the foreigner, destroying it. One of the sub-white blood cells, baseophils, release two substances that assist in this process, the most notable in this case is called a histamine. Histamines open up your capillaries and make it easier to attack the foreign body, but it also releases water, resulting in runny noses, watery eyes, itching, etc. Just be sure to drink plenty of water, and try using an antihistamine like benadryl or zyrtex, and i also reccomend staying inside if possible. If it persists, especially with some of the more unusual symptoms, see your doctor. Best of luck! Hopefully you feel better soon

Are you sure it's a lymph node? You should get it check out in case it's not. A lymph node should go down and not stay swollen. I've not heard of allergies causing that before.
