What do you think that it takes to be a friend of God?

It takes communicating with him every day in the form of learning as much about Him as you can and trusting that He, even when things seem like they are not going your way, is always acting in your best interest (which is the best interest of your eternal life). Friend may not be the word, for you ARE his child, but I understand what you are asking...I try to read some scripture or writing about scriptures such as daily devotions each morning and evening...starting and ending my day with my "friend"...I sometimes miss a morning or a few evenings, but i strive for that structure...and of course, there are other times during the day when I may pray or talk to God (we have a lot of conversations while I am driving, lol). Of course, the important thing is to talk to God in your own way...there comes a peace and contentment from having some structure....there come more answers in the quiet (God isn't going to tell you things directly, but he provides all answers in his own time if you pray and listen and strive to recognize them). There comes a contentment and peace in studying and understanding gratitude, mercy, forgiveness, prudence, humility, etc...I recommend God's Great Blessings Devotional by Patricia Raybon as a great daily guide starting place. The journey is an individual one, best wishes on yours.

We are all the children of God in the name of Christ Jesus, we don't need to be His friends but we need to have a close relationship with Him. It build faith and trust, and it's just like talking to Him more than a bestfriend. He listens and cares for us that only if you will love Him and obey Him.

Start reading a bible.

Believe in Jesus and welcome him into your life.

Pray with all your heart in Jesus name or you can just talk to Him about everything but with a humble heart and respect.

Be sure you are confident that He hears you. God is everywhere and all-knowing, he longs for us to call him and trust him in everything.

Remember, when you pray be sure it is pleasing unto Him, you should pray with all your heart, it's just like your heart that speaks. Believe you will be answered and it will be. That is one way to build a closer relationship with Him. He doesn't look at a man's appearance but in the heart. Make Him your heart's FIRST DESIRE and filling your thoughts about HIM. Going to Church only doesn't help, it should be your heart that feels, having an interest in SPENDING TIME with Him.

I experienced the closeness, and that relationship is THE BEST relationship I could ever have. Feel so BLESSED and PROTECTED. TRY IT~

It's not by being friendly to Him, He is more than our own parents.

The willingness to believe in something without any good reason and with an absence of evidence. The Bible seems to say as much when it portrays faith as the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things unseen (Hebrews 11:1).

What does it take to become a friend of anyone?

Get to know Him - read the Bible

Talk with Him - pray

Do the things He likes to do - follow in His footsteps

what a person may think does not make it truth , but if it is the truth you want to know , no ONE comes to know God without a relationship with your Creator Jesus Lord of everyone Christ too some

Wallow in the God delusion by being one of his sheeple. He likes sheeple, and sheeple like him.

God does NOT need friends.

As parents do not NEED their children to be their "friends", just shut up and OBEY!!!
