who remembers when you could use inappropriate words on the radio?
I think it was a lot better when singers could swear on the radio because the songs sounded better and more whole not incomplete with words missing.
what is your opinion.

I totally agree with you. Too many people don't understand the fact that our spoken language is to be used as a TOOL to relay a message, that turns into a feeling or emotion. Words that are labeled "profane" are simply words that are not "biblical".
In the USA were we are supposed to have freedom of speech. Songs are used as a form of expression. How can we have freedom of speech if they censor our messages through the forms of expression we choose to relay them!?
Curse words are not solely used to 'curse' someone. They are versatile. Today, we use them to enhance our message!
Profanity has to do with the bible! Not everyone is catholic, and it's absurd that most people don't even know the root of where these words came from, yet they get offended like little children when they hear it.
Profane(adj): Relating or devoted to that which is not sacred or biblical; secular.
Freedom is not censorship.

Hey,
I agree with metro nobody wants to hear Eminem or what ever he is talk about raping his girl friend.
Its also now a federal law!
FULL STORY AT http://transition.fcc.gov/eb/oip/
The FCC vigorously enforces this law where we find violations, consistent with constitutional and statutory protections of broadcasters' freedom of speech. Beginning in 2006, due to ongoing litigation raising questions about the Commission's indecency standard, the FCC temporarily deferred enforcement action on most indecency cases while awaiting further direction from the courts. More recently, the Commission resumed processing new cases and initiating new investigations, where appropriate. Subsequent court decisions, however, have again raised questions about the Commission's indecency authority.
During this period, we have continued to receive and process indecency complaints. In addition, the Enforcement Bureau ("Bureau") has taken steps to reduce the backlog of indecency complaints that resulted from past pauses in enforcement activity. In particular, the Bureau has resumed its review and processing of cases, including closing those cases based on complaints alleging that a cable or satellite operator aired indecent material, complaints concerning broadcast content that is outside of the scope of the Commission's indecency enforcement authority based on Commission precedent, as well as complaints alleging that a broadcaster aired indecent material during the "safe harbor" hours between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., local time.
If you want profanity find it else-where my kid and the others should not hear the F word every 20 seconds ok this why i help made this law actually.

I agree. Now half of rap songs and various pop songs are half cut out; annoying.
