Fellow believers, do you ever get tired of the mystery?

As a Christian, having grown up with the church, removed myself from the church, questioned everything, went back to the church that fits my ideas (best) but by all means no perfect fit, do you ever get sick of trying to decipher the Bible and trying to explain it to people who haven't grown up in the faith?

Most of the time I can't make heads or tails of a lot of what is in the Bible without a Bible study. With that even, there are a million different interpretations out there. Don't even get me started on Revalations.

Honestly, I get tired sometimes. I'd just like to open a Bible and understand what I'm reading. Even with all the translations out there, so much of it still feels to me like it is written in code and you still need to follow a study to fully understand it.

Sometimes I just wish God wasn't such a mystery. I just wish I could open a Bible and understand what was in it, period. As if it was written by someone who lived today, in these times.

I can't even get through the book of Job in the NKV or NIV without looking at references.

To be honest, as ridiculous as it sounds, I wouldn't mind if the crazy 2012 theories were right and we all got some real answers.

It's clear to me anyway that in one way or another, we're all wrong.

Update:

Right, so I you are right and every other denomination is right... well then, which one is right? I'm talking Christian denominations here, NOT the foundation of Christianity..,.

Update 2:

Revelation. ;-)

I'd be willing to bet that tons of people feel just like you do, but are afraid to say it, so I admire your open declaration... it is refreshing to hear such honesty. Thanks for saying it.

Don't wish, pray. Studying the bible is fun when you have the right resources.

By the way, the book is "Revelation" not Revalations, as in The Revelation of Jesus Christ (revealing...) Blessed is he who reads this book and understands...

And no, I'm not a grown-up-in-the-church Christian, (You wouldn't catch me dead in any kind of church before that time) but I have spent 3.5 years reading, listening intently and asking questions. I don't understand all of the references, but I have enough info to tell whether what I hear interpreted makes sense or not, in light of the character of God.

Nope. It in no way crosses my ideas. I even have greater significant issues to think of approximately than places that i don't think of even exist. it would desire to be reminiscent of asking a Christian how generally they think of "What if there's a Valhalla?" And, i don't mock human beings (my solutions are open if each and every individual needs to look at that declare), so I certainly don't experience any guilt over this. i will immediately renowned that some Atheists right here do...yet so carry out a little believers. It is going the two approaches, and that i attempt to stand above the fray.

Why did God create it so complicated? I know the translations from earlier languages mangled it up, but couldn't god fix all of it, thus solving the problems of reading his word? This is the WORD OF GOD we're talking about, how to live, and what not.

Jeremiah 33:3 "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Ever have fervent and earnest prayer for an answer to your questions ?

John 16:24 "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."

The life of a believer is always filled with mystery, since it is impossible to ever solve the nonsense which comprises religious scripture.

You are no fellow believer with me....

"It's clear to me anyway that in one way or another, we're all wrong."

Sounds like you are a dis-believer......

No, because i don't care. my belief is my belief and if you don't beleive in it i'm not gonna waste my time bothering. I believe jesus walked this earth and died for our sins, and if you don't believe that then so be it. i don't have to explain anything.

If there is no God, it all makes sense.
