What's the big deal in starting a auto leasing discussion on monthly payments?

I keep reading over and over that never tell a dealer when you're leasing an auto about what monthly payments you can afford. And that you should focus on the sale price of the car. My point is , when I tell a auto broker or dealer that my monthly payment should be between $600-700 (knowing average on the market what good monthly deals on that particular model/options) , my car options are these, and my downpayment will not exceed for eg. $2000, and lease period will be 36 months why should I be bothered about the sale price etc.,? Because if Im putting only the downpayment I want, and paying only monthly what I decided to pay and getting the required lease term, why shoud I worry about sale price, apr, etc., etc.,

Update:

AFter reading the 1st answer. I understand just telling the dealer only about monthly payment. Yes, that's trouble. But if you know a brand new Car W , with Options X you want is available for monthly lease payment of Y (which is generally considered as a good deal in the market) and a lease term of Z, why would I care if the car price is 45K or 65K?

Because they could sell you a $12,000 car and charge you $600 a month or they could sell you a $50,000 and charge you the same $600 a month. Which car would you rather drive?

If you don't negotiate on price the lender can write your contract in a way to charge you as much as they want for the car. You are responsible for the full price of the car.

that's the genuine belongings section, yet i will provide it a bypass in keeping with settlement regulation and my very own adventure leasing vehicles. except a situation of the lease is violated, or there's a clause in the settlement that permits surcharges, the words of the lease upon signing stay in place for the term of the lease. the only element that could replace is revenues tax. i'm uncertain on what your boss has to do with this, except you artwork for the agency that financed your vehicle. If that's no longer a one place of work small business enterprise type element, call somebody on the corporate or considerable place of work and ask for clarification in this new can charge. Ask them to describe the place it is allowed in the lease words.
