You'll need more than just a truck, you need loads to haul. Your local home & garden store might contract with you to deliver customers gravel, rocks, top soil, bark, etc. You could place ads in the local newspapers for hauling, garage clean outs, etc. If you are the only service in town and many people hire you, you could do very well. On the other hand, if you can't get enough jobs to pay for insurance and gas and monthly payments on the truck, you'll go broke.

I would first look into both insurance on the vehicle and business liability insurance premiums for this industry. It is high risk because the vehicle can do a lot of damage in an accident no matter who's at fault. No matter if you buy or lease the insurance premiums must be full coverage to protect the lender. I would probably buy because if business got slow or some emergency came up, you can always resell the Dump Truck. Getting out of a lease agreement may be very difficult. If you call other similar businesses in your area and inquired about their rates, it will give you an average of what you should charge per load and the travel time to determine how many loads per day you can deliver. Good Luck To You
