Hi David.
Surely.
1. Layla:
9/10 (My labrodor's GF was named for this song:))
2. Bridge Over Troubled Water:
6/10. Truly it is a masterful song, but i've taken points off for it's relevance to sad times in my life, which makes it hard to actually listen to.
3. Let It Be:
10/10, very, very beautiful.
4. Your Song:
10/10, again very, very beautiful.
5. Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine:
8/10. Not a huge fan of him, but the energy in this song is infectious.
6. Lola:
10/10, just can't help singing along.
7. Who'll Stop the Rain:
10/10, They could do no wrong.
8. Fire and Rain:
10/10. One of my all time top 10 songs, and where I often go for inspiration.
9. Paranoid:
7/10: A great song, yet I do tire of it quickly.
10. All Right Now:
7/10. A nice song, just doesn't start my engine.
*Maybe I'm Amazed in place of Paranoid.
*Have You Ever Seen the Rain in place of Bridge Over Troubled Water.

1. Layla - Derek and the Dominos ... Great song but this version I don't care for. A+ for accustic
2. Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel ... enjoyable but I wont seek it out
3. Let It Be - The Beatles ... probably better if another band plays it
4. Your Song - Elton John ... just to sensationalistic pop common place.
5. Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine - James Brown .... Excellent
6. Lola - The Kinks .... Excellent
7. Who'll Stop the Rain - Creedence Clearwater Revival ..... semi sensationalistic but CCR isn't a bad
8. Fire and Rain - James Taylor .... probably the first soft rock song I liked.
9. Paranoid - Black Sabbath .... I can't get the Kinks Paranoid Green Man out of my head. so meh
10. All Right Now - Free ..... still glad I am thinking about the Kinks, or I'd be puking.
The following ten songs of that year in order were these. And do you think any of these could have or should have replaced some that are in the top ten. Be free to choose.
11 My Sweet Lord George Harrison ..... not so facinated with it anymore
12 Black Magic Woman Santana .... Good One for sure.
13 Band Of Gold Freda Payne .... I think it might be a disco or something
14 Maybe I'm Amazed Paul McCartney .... crap
15 War Edwin Starr .... I go for it
16 American Woman Guess Who ....... Masterful
17 Have You Ever Seen the Rain Creedence Clearwater Revival .... like it better than I think I do
18 Joy To the World Three Dog Night .... it's not alright
19 The Long and Winding Road Beatles ..... it's alright
20 I'll Be There Jackson 5 .... better than thriller, I think the full nose produced better sound.
I guess this indicates some changes to the list.

1 - Layla - overplayed but still an excellent song - 9/10
2 - Bridge Over ....... - One of the best and most inspirational ballads ever but not my favorite by them. Still it gets a 8/10.
3 - Let It Be - my favorite pop/rock ballad (not counting the Power Ballads like Dream On) - a solid 9/10
4 - Your Song - Another great Pop/Rock ballad - 8/10
5 - Get UP - I've never been a big James Brown fan but I do appreciate his immense talent - 6/10.
6 - Lola - I love The Kinks but not this song - 4/10
7 - Who'll Stop The Rain - I change my mind about favorite ballad - Let It Be is amateur compared to this 10++ - the perfect ballad.
8 - Fire and Rain - you must be in a ballad mood - A great song but not equal to the CCR one - 7.5/10
9 - Paranoid - I am Sabbath fan but this isn't even the best song on that album - 6/10
10 - All Right Now - A great rockin song - Paul Rogers at his best - 7.5/10
11 - My Sweet Lord - George was my favorite Beatle but this song annoys me for some reason - 4/10
12 - Black Magic - If you would have listed The Fleetwood Mac original it would have gotten a 9 - Santana gets a 7.5 - if the vocals were better it would get a 10 because Santana's guitar is amazing.
13 - Band of Gold - This song is one of those that gets stuck in my head and I sing it all day long. LOL 7/10
14 - Maybe I'm Amazed - Many call this Paul's best Post Beatles song but I disagree 5/10
15 - War - I like Springsteens live cover of this but Edwin does a good job - 6/10
16 - American Woman - A Hard Rocking song but they did better - 6/10
17 - Have You Ever Seen - CCR is my second favorite group behind Zeppelin and this another classic 9.5/10
18 - Joy To The World - Poppy and over-played but is so catchy that I find myself singing this all the time. 8/10
19 - The Long and Winding Road - George's Something is better but this is a very good song 8.5/10
20 - I'll be There - Michael was too young and too cute to get my interest back then but this is a decent song for a 12 year old. 7/10

Sex Machine is not that good of a song, perhaps, it's just that I'm not a big James Brown fan. I feel that Sex Machine should be replaced by Have you Ever seen the Rain. HYESTR is a beautiful song that defs should've been in the top 10. This must've been a great year for music there is not a bad song on either list.
