How could we work to reduce prescription drug costs?
Some people could work well in society if they had access to some prescription drugs. Now I hear they are cheaper in Canada. So what can we do as Americans to reduce to cost of prescriptions so that all who need them can afford them better?

There needs to be recipricol safety standards between industrialized / modern Countries (Canada, U.S. & Western Europe). If a drug is pronounced "safe" in Canada than it should be considered "safe" in the U.S. (and importation of it from Canada should be legal in the U.S.).
The FDA is an arm of the big pharma in the U.S and they hide behind the "safety" issues to impede competition.

Reduce the regulations, which will bring down the cost to produce these drugs, and then you'll see the costs come down./. That was the answer you didn't want.
Here is what you WANT TO HEAR:
The government should force the drug companies to sell their drugs at the same prices as they do to Canada.
THE FACTS:
The Canadian government subsidises the costs of drugs which makes it APPEAR that they are cheaper. They are paying for them through MUCH HIGHER TAXES.

The FDA is a corrupt bunch of thieves
the drug companies offer FDA employees jobs, with massive salaries - if they don't approve drugs from a competitor
So the FDA acts like a Tijuana Traffic Cop approving drugs for the highest bribe
Most FDA employees "retire" from "government service" and become multi millionaires
As usual - government IS the problem

Stop taking so many stupid, unnecessary drugs. The doctors shovel them out like candy. Ask your doctor if the junk he's pushing is really necessary, and if there's another less toxic way to handle your "condition", which is generally imaginary about half the time, anyway.

Get the federal government out of the health care interference business and watch costs drop.

Canada has fewer regulations, and are able to approve certain medications that our country won't.
Why won't they pass them, you ask? Politicians in Washington write the laws and give perks to different groups for different things.
Follow the money.

Get govt out of funding them. When anyone knows the govt will pay, college costs for instance, the costs just go up.
