You not only can set a home page, you can set multiple home pages. I have 6 different web-pages that open whenever I start up Chrome.
Click on the wrench on the top right.
Click on "options"
You will see where you can set multiple pages as your home page, or just a single home page.
There are also options listed there for "Show Home button" and "Show Bookmarks Bar"
It's also not a bad idea to sync Chrome to your Google account if you have one. You can then add bookmarks on one computer and they will appear on any other computer you have synced as well.
I have four computers synced on mine.

Good luck.
