Why does one tooth feel numb?

Every once in a while, my tooth messes up, and starts hurting whenever I bite something. It has a weird, cold, sensitive feeling to it, but only that one tooth. This happens from time to time, but it usually goes away witin a few days, I'm just wondering if anyone knows what this is, and how to possibly cure it. Thanks

Sensitivity and numbness of tooth can occur because of tooth wear or gum recession or can occur because of infection in the tooth. It would be better to visit a dentist for evaluation. By the time, you visit your dentist, you can use a desensitizing too pate.
