Can I boot to my external USB hard drive with my MacBook Pro?

I have a fully functional, Windows Vista Home Premium (I think) bootable hard drive in a USB enclosure and a MacBook Pro with Parallels 6 and Bootcamp. I really need to boot to that drive. Last I checked, I couldn't just open it up in EFI because it just wouldn't show up no matter what I did. Does anyone know of a way I can boot to this laptop? I installed Flash CS4 on the drive and I can't run it through a different operating system apparently.

Have you tried holding down option when turning it on? The external should show up if it is bootable.

on the HP show (the 1st image that seems when you turn on the computing device) press F1. positioned here boot order: a million - cd; 2 - USB; 3 - HD. i think of an more desirable answer would be to easily change the hd with a sparkling one and installation Xp on it.
