Is it safe to keep wine on the counter at room temperature after its open?

We had wine for Thanksgiving and then couldn't fit it in the fridge. It is closed up on my kitchen counter. Is is safe to drink?

Well, it is food-safe meaning you dont' have to worry about food borne illness like if you had left ham ount the countertop for 2 months. But it isn't going to be as good to drink after all this time being exposed to oxygen. Even if you stoppered it up - you had let air into the bottle.

Try it - if it's bad, add some vinegar to it - let it sit another month and make salad dressing out of it. (it will be all vinegar by then)

Yes of course! You actually are not supposed to refrigerate wine. When you buy wine is it in the fridge? no...
