I don't actually know but well when I got my iPod4 it was charged I used it 'till it died and then charged it 'till it was 100% without using it but then after that when ever.

you may not overcharge an iDevice. in simple terms bypass away it plugged in till the battery icon's image interior the status bar (precise bar) alterations from a lightening bolt to a plug. I and each physique i comprehend has been doing it for years and none persons have ever had a situation.

Charge it when it dose down 20%
Just charge it when it needs to be charged.
