Chin ups or dumbbells better for bicep work?
Just wondering what would be more beneficial? I don't want to get huge arms.. I just want definition and decent strength.. Opinions/experiences would be nice..
Thanks

Have a look at how a humans arm works, naturally.
It's not designed to do `isolation` exercises, such as dumbell curls, or tricep extensions...
The back, so often overlooked- is for pulling, the bicep merley lends a hand!
The most important muscles on your upper body are the back and pectorals, with the triceps close behind- you can do a pull up without a bicep- but not without a back!
My point is, do pull ups, or rows, or other compound exercises. (work multiple groups) it's how you're body is supposed to function!

Do a combination of both. Hammer curls with the dumbells are by far the best exercise for adding strength to you bi's. But don't forget the tricep muscles. When people want to get better arms they usually focus on the bi's, but the triceps are the larger muscle and where the real arm strength is. Well defined tricep muscles make the arms look much more cut.

Hello! Well, both exercises have the same concept- in chin ups, you are lifting weight (your body) up, and then reverse-exercising while lowering yourself to do it again. It is a different range of motion and groups with dumbbells. Both are good- Chin ups will be lean for sure, your muscles will build then stop unless you gain weight. Dumbbells do more repetitions with less weight for lean muscles.

do both.. because u need atleast 2 different exercises for the biceps
so do 4 sets of both....
and that should be enough for your bicep workout
then do 3 different exercises for triceps.. because that makes up more of your arm

Pull-ups work the back and lats as well as bicep. They are harder to do with good form than a simple curl, and curls isolate the bicep better. If you are looking to just tone or build your bicep, go with curls.
