Hillary is available but unwilling.
and Obama is about to be massacred.

The Dems know that Obama is already a lame duck. but they don't want to be called racists for not supporting our Chicken-in-Chief.
And Hillary is waiting of 2016 'cause she knows the Republicans will win this time around

Parties with their guy in the Whitehouse rarely ever go with a new candidate.
A successful challenge to a sitting president for their party's nomination hasn't been done since the 1880s and won't happen now.
Ted Kennedy challenged Jimmy Carter of all people & lost dearly during the Dem primaries.
Obama isn't about to be "massacred" given the Republican gong show. Romney will be the probable nominee but isn't a shoe-in by any stretch of the imagination.

There's no reason they can't, but they don't want to. The Democrats are smart enough to know that their odds are better sticking with Obama than trying to introduce a new candidate and having them woe the American public. Besides, if they have a Democrat primary and Obama wins that, the primary campaign will have shown Obama's position to be weak and split his support, increasing the likelihood that the Republicans would win.
It simply works out better politically for the Democrats to be unified behind Obama right now.

The libs are blindly stubborn when it comes to steadfastly supporting even the worse of politicians when they have done so in the past. It's part of their neurosis - they can never admit they have made a mistake or, were ever wrong about anything. If we've learned nothing else here, we've certainly learned that. This year, we will find it to be a great advantage, as opposed to merely a pain in the backside.

Obama's popularity now reminds us of both Harry Truman, who withdrew in 1952 and Lyndon Johnson, who withdrew in 1968.
The Democrats' problem is that nobody else wants to step up to become a footnote in history and a name associated with losing by a landslide. That, and Obama has $60 million in the bank to spend against them.

Obama is running unopposed in most democratic primaries. If someone else wanted to run, they could. Remember 1979 when Ted Kennedy tried to take the nomination away from Jimmy Carter. It's called constitutional history, you should learn it.

Their mascot is a donkey for a reason.
Common sense would state something with experience and know-how should run. But, when has that made a difference?
They want Obama to get it because he's done the most to divide and thumb his nose at Repubs, who are supposed to be just as important to him, as American citizens. Rather than even attempt to work with opposing political parties to unite, he would rather have it his way, and consequences be damned.

they can; and there are a couple of other democrats running for President. Obama won't be the official candidate until after the convention

Why does it matter. Goldman Sachs is funding Romney the most this time when they funded Obama the most in 2008. Romney will be the next president. So get ready for another 911 with a Republican president again.
