Should teleprompters be banned for political use?

Politicians lie and speeches from teleprompters are crafted in a way to hide those lies so if everything is done through prompters, the people will not notice the lies. Let the leaders speak plainly, so all mistakes or lies are out in the open for the people to see.

So how did politicians lie in the days before teleprompters were invented? And please don't try to tell us they were more honest back then, because ANY breathing person knows better. There's a reason why the Honest Abe and George "I cannot tell a lie" Washington myths stood out long before teleprompters.

And then there was US Congressman Davy Crockett to his Tennessee district in 1834: "You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas." So maybe some of them did tell the truth.

teleprompters are the 2012 way people keep track of there info. So unless you are Sarah Palin & writing on your hand or can't like in the only moment we live which is now, you would realize how ridiculous it is when people question teleprompters.

To be fair, most politicians are so busy that they don't have time to memorize speeches. In addition, Obama needs to make a speech on current issues (like Osama Bin Laden's assassination) where he needs to be on air and talking before any human could possibly memorize said speech. I don't have a problem with most uses.

I think teleprompters are the most pressing political issue facing the country today.
