Good luck. Not many vendors support XP nowadays since it is so obsolete.

Well, the thing about drivers is that each one your system needs probably comes from a different company - NVidia or AMD for the video card, Realtek or Creative for the sound card, etc. And they don't usually like anyone other than them and the computer's retailer handing out copies of their drivers, for some reason (Softpedia often has them, too, though, usually, which is odd). Your best bet is to go to Compaq's website, look up your computer model, and get them straight from there. The problem there is that most manufacturers don't keep tabs on what the latest and greatest drivers are for computers that didn't come out in, like, the last year or so - so if you want the newest, you're going to have to pull up Device Manager to look up the models of the devices in your computer, then look them up individually. Honestly, though, generally speaking, the only one you're likely to see a real, noticeable difference/performance increase from is from the latest video card driver, which you can usually get from NVidia's/AMD's site.

Those should be the most important ones; XP probably installed everything else for you.

You need to find out the make and model of your motherboard (HP doesn't make them, Asus or Foxconn or someone else does) and see if there is a similar Mobo with drivers available from the original manufacturer.
