Should I use iTunes to download music?

I just got an iPod Nano and I'm brand new to iTunes. How does iTunes work, or what is the best site for downloading music? I'm willing to pay...I used to use Limewire and Frostwire, but after having big problems with viruses on my computer I'd rather pay for safe music.

Any recommendations?

I use both iTunes and the MP3 store on Amazon.com, simply because of the convenience both sites provide. Both are great sites for purchasing music and both make the process extremely easy.

I usually stick with the 69 cent sales that iTunes has every month. Every now and then, I will buy 99 cent songs and I don't buy too may $1.29 songs.

I will usually go to Amazon's MP3 store for songs that iTunes doesn't have. Most songs are 99 cents there as well.

I rarely buy full albums from either one. I prefer to have the physical CD if I want the full album. I usually buy them used on Amazon.com as well.

I don't like streaming or internet radio.

Be sure to create backups of your purchased music (whether you burn to disc or copy to any USB external storage). Amazon will not give you a second chance to redownload for free and iTunes only gives you one chance to redownload for free.

itunes is basically like the app store. You can browse and purchase music, movies and books. You can buy the music in albums or individual songs(99 cents). The albums are generally more expensive. You can download itunes on your computer but you need an apple id to buy music to transfer to your nano.
