Is anyone familiar with The London Dungeons?

My daughter and I will be in London, and while they look interesting, and it claims to be family fun, I'm not certain that it is age appropriate for her. And are they cheesy, or really good?

I went aged about 16/7 with a 12 yr old and a couple of 14/5 year olds and some adults. This was a few years ago mind, but I personally wouldn't have said it was scary. The 12 year old wasn't scared either, but he's a boy and quite likes guts and gore, so maybe that's why.

You don't say how old your daughter is, but lots of the experience is in either low light or the dark so if she is afraid of the dark Id say give it a miss. Anyone under about 10-12 depending on how nervous they are probably won't like it. It's also a lot of walking! But they do tell you "oh this might scare them do you want to miss it out" but then you've paid for something that your not seeing.

Some of it is really good, they do tell you about parts of history, but some of it is just plain silly/cheap with bad mannequins in prison cells and random screams. The people who tour you around, they're all dressed up and try to entertain you, but I think the major thing is if your actually interested in history. The 12 yr old lost interest half way through but the other two were a bit more entertained because they'd done it at school. But there are things like the jack the ripper part that are more of a let down than the big exhibition I was expecting. I think they've added some rides etc since then, so maybe that makes it more interesting too.
