In my experience, the laptop-shutting-down problem is usually due to overheating.

Is the fan working? Some laptops just can't cool themselves even if the fan is working. You can try getting one of those little platforms to sit it on that has fans under it (visit computer store, they'll know what I mean).

If you're running something hard on graphics or CPU (i.e. a game) and don't have a purpose-built laptop, it is likely you'll overheat.

Yep it could be from overheating because alot of laptops and computers have a smart shutdown system that prevents overheating. Also there are some viruses that are immune to anti-viruses, your problem would 100% be a virus or overheating, check the laptops bottom and back to see if its hot. Otherwise if it was a virus you'd have to reformat which is bassically erasing all the data off your Laptop in a special way but Laptop reformats arn't easy, if its a Dell then the Dell site will tell you how otherwise your on your own.
