I must assume you are speaking of the control of a lamp using a single on/off switch (one-way) so the lamp can be controlled at on location only. A two-way control circuit is the control of one lamp from two separate locations so that switching either switch will change the status of the lamp
The one-way circuit uses a simple on off switch. The two-way circuit uses two three-way switches (single-pole double-throw SPDT).
If you want to control a lamp from 3 or more locations, you must place 4-way switches between the 2 three-way switches. A 4-way switch is a cross over switch which switches the 2 inlet wires and the 2 outlet wires.
The second part of your question deals with the actual engineering part, while abiding by the rules and regulations pertaining to the project.
If my assumption of the meaning of your question is wrong, my answer is obviously wrong.

You probably just blew a fuse or flipped a circuit breaker. Find your fuse/breaker box. To be on the safe side, flip the main breaker at the top to the off position (turns off all power in your house). If you have breakers (little switches that turn the circuit s off and on) look for one that is tripped (in the opposite direction of the others). Then just flip it back. If you have fuses in your box look to see if the element inside any of the fuse is burned. If so unscrew it and go to the hardware store and buy another. Screw it back in. Turn the main breaker switch back on and your done.
