Exercise routine for a beginner. (Am I doing it right?)?

Hi, i'm currently 17 years of age, 5,8 and 200lb. I know this is obese so I want to change that.

What i've been doing so far is watching my diet. I'm no longer indulging myself with high calorie goodies, and instead, keeping a minimal of about 1,500 calories or lower a day.

Breakfast

- I'm usually eating breakfast oatmeal along with a side of a banana or grapefruit.

- I also eat the special K Yogurt and berries cereal with fruit.

Lunch

- Turkey sandwich with lettuce, white bread, and turkey.

- With a side of carrots :)

Dinner

- Something different everyday so not worth mentioning.

My exercise routine is

Usually I do 10 Burpees, then lift 20 pound dumbbells about 100 times. I'm going to start running as well starting slow 1mile a day, then slowly raising to two and possibly more.

I was just wondering if I should take breaks in between lifting, and how long does one usually take breaks in between. Should you do it once a day, or more then once.

Also does this seem like a decent plan? Any improvements to make it better?

Only eat things that are SHOT, PICKED, PLUCKED, or MILKED.

Bread hasn't been picked, plucked, shot or milked.

    Chicken has been shot.

Fruits and vegetables and picked or plucked.

Milk and dairy products are milk.

Include only plant based fats in your diet. (i.e. Almonds and peanut butter)

As for exercise, don't over do it. Lifting every other day is fine.

This seems like a great plan! I would switch the white bread to whole wheat if you can. Im very happy for you your defiantly on the right track I wish I could give you tips on lifting but I dont do gyms. I just stick with cardo (which isn't the best, but better than nothing). As far as running, you might not be able to make a mile, even slow, the first time. Im just basing this off personal experience, but the fist time ou jog you'll probably have to go back and forth between jogging and speed walking.

You are on such a good start! I wish you luck!

Ok so I think you should keep doing what your doing. Heres what i suggest:

Do your exersice routine same as it is, but change it up. Do that every OTHER day. On the days you shouldnt be doing it, replace it with this, so its a bit easier and doesnt stress you to much. 100 jumping jacks, 25 situps, 25 crunches, 10 push ups, 30 leg lifts. Easy, right? So one day its sweaty and the other its simple! But, this I think (if your able to) you should do everyday 3 hours before you go to bed; go for a 45 minute jog. I think this should help. Good luck!

I advise yoga If you're no longer within the exceptional form or you are no longer powerful ample for a top depth determine it is a determine that doesn't take plenty of time or attempt and you are going to begin to consider the change within the fist week. If you suppose with a view to lose interest Yoga you'll be able to check out a low affect cardio style of labor out. For this you simplest want a DVD participant and a Yoga or cardio DVD. You can hire them earlier than you purchase it. This determine will simplest take a million hour three time per week.

Sounds like a good start to me. I would recommend adding more protein for the sake of building lean muscle. Honestly, once working out becomes part of your life and you reach your weight goal, you will need to increase your calories to maintain your sanity.

Dieting is a good thing, but it can quickly become a bad thing when you begin to obsess over it.
