Can people without military training become a Mercenary?

I have wanted to be a Marine all my life because of my father but I have Crohn's Disease and no branch will take me but if I had one day home every two months I could be just fine. I have always wanted to serve my country and I am wondering if any PMCs train people like me who have all the determination in the world but none of the prior experience. Would it help to finish college or is that irrelevent? Is this possible and if it is how can I achieve it?

Update:

Is there a way I can ask the Shock and Awe guy more questions? Are their any PMCs that train people like a military boot camp does?

Update 2:

Is there any way at all to go through military boot camp and training without being in one of the main branches?

Update 3:

I never wanted to be a Marine because of any ******* video game. Every day my dad told me even when I was barely able to talk that being a Marine is dangerous, unappreciated and a waste of time. he told me that I would be forgotten killed or captured, in which case i would get my dick cut off then get it stuck in my mouth and my throat slit, and all that **** never changed my mind. That was years before xbox and call of duty, ********. It doesnt matter if I come home in a box what matters is that I do my ******* part

I live in the US now I also have aspergers and I want to join the military too, but I was told I might not be able to join, now unlike Norway(no offense) cases like yours and mine are followed on a by cast basis, but I was told I can become a police officer, where I would have a better chance of being accepted rather than the military. Alot of American mercenary companies hire you if you were either a cop with detective status for at least 6 years or served in a SWAT team for at least 3 years. The French Foreign Legion is also a possibility for me, I mean come on if the FFL takes sort of psychopathic ex convicts, why wouldn't they take aspergers. It's up to you man, your choice, good luck, I hope it works out for you

Your best bet is to ask the different PMCs out there. You could be in a support role vs. pulling a trigger somewhere. Also, combat isn't as sexy as the movies make it. Same with the PMCs. The main thing is the money and you have less restrictions than the military members (at least Americans) in the same area.

I know Wikipedia gets a bad rap, but this info, especially the legal info) is decent:

Contact the companies and ask or apply. you might have some skill (medical, pilot, computer, driving, etc.) they want. Not everyone of them is a merc unit with folks like the movie "The Expendables" lol. Almost all have some type of vetting process so they don't get fakes or poseurs unless they are ran by fakes and poseurs. Not everyone needs a gunslinger, when an engineer, driver, armorer/weapon-smith, plumber, interpreter, admin assistant, HVAC, contracting, lawyer, logistican are more valuable in their region of operation. I've seen all types of jobs you do in the states overseas. The technical ones are in demand always, but many people don't want to leave home and be in a more dangerous place. See what schooling you need or see if you have the skills now. You never know till you try. Don't listen to people who tell you 'no' all day long. Give it a try.

Good luck and thank you for even having the "sack" to try to serve anywhere...

**Update: For some reason I can't unblock the personal email option on Answers. Anyway, you would need to contact a PMC to your liking and see what their requirements are. I know there are military style boot camps where YOU pay to go through. The quality of them is not going to be anywhere as good as your going to get from the military, but you will have to research them in your area and see if you are physically capable and even willing to pay for one. Job training might be apart of the contractors you sign up with, but most seemed to want you to possess the knowledge of the job your applying for. So basically you have to ask them what they require for whatever group/company you want to work for. Again most of them aren't shooting people, but helping people on a governmental contract. They do the jobs we couldn't do or didn't have the time/focus to do in a sometimes hostile place. Sometimes its Bahrain or Qatar where you are kicking back in the heat.

Bottom line, is to do some research and actually ask the companies you find you like and have skills you can bring to the table. Technical and mental skills are more important war-fighting right now especially with Iraq winding for now.

Private military contractors only hire those with extensive experience, usually ex-special forces or infantry, both with multiple tours. They don't train people. Do you think they'd hire some eighteen year old with two years retail experience over a 25 year old corporal of horse with two tours under his belt? Dream on mate. You think you have a realistic view on life, but you think a PMC would hire somebody with no experience?

Qaddafi was hiring inexperienced mercenaries. You can see how that turned out.

You might be able to get an admin type position at a PMC. They have record keepers too. That might be your only real way in.

For the most part, PMCs don't do combat. They are really just security guards and body guards most of the time. They do not actively go and seek out the enemy. They only defend themselves.

Only one that comes to mind off the top of my head is the French Foreign Legion...

They're the last Bad Asses left in the French Military (they don't f**k around). But they have VERY strict enlistment rules, and if you don't meet their medical history/medical exam requirements, you won't be allowed to join. Judging by the fact that you said you've got Crohn's Disease, good luck ever being up to snuff to get in (but nevertheless, it is a suggestion to explore)

Why train people when they can take a former Marine or Army Infantry, give them 2 weeks training, then send them out as PMCs? It takes a lot of money to train someone. Plus marines and infantry have experience.

Sure...if you could find someone desperate enough to hire someone with absolutely no experience or skills who needs to be close to a toilet at all times you might be in luck...

    I strongly suggest having a Plan B

You do realize that about 30% of the DOD are civilians who support the uniformed military right?
