I do recall the glass that was tucked inside the Duz laundry soap box, as well as the towel that was inside the box of laundry Breeze laundry soap as well. Sometimes, a washcloth came inside a box of Breeze, & china found in boxes of Mother's Oats.

I do undeed remember seeing dishes & towels in the boxes of laundry soap that my mother bought each week. I don't recall getting dishes that were handed out at the movie theater that I went to as a youngster. Duz laundry soap used to have towels inside but I can't remember if they offered dishes also. Towels & dishes inside the laundry soap? Pretty neat back then huh?

Yes I do remember, it wasn't a brand that our family used. I also remember glasses inside of boxes of oatmeal, margarine that came packaged in plastic bowls or mugs.

Yes. Glasses, dishes, tea towels, etc. Like getting something for free.

OMG. Like curious 115, I remember the DUZ wheat pattern dishes too, but only in ads. I think my mom always used TIDE. The Washday Miracle.

I use Fay-Mus-Name laundry soap, or Val-You-Plus, or Lawn-Der-Rite, or whatever's on sale.

It is fascinating to me how much of our popular culture was once devoted to the soap business.

Yes and in the 1930s the movies use to have free dish night.

I think the detergent was called Duz. My mom stocked her entire linen closet with their towels, wash cloths and dishtowels. I don't remember drinking glasses specifically, but I wouldn't doubt it. Gasoline stations used to give away that stuff, too.

Thanks for the memories. And at SERVICE stations the attendant would hand you a lovely drinking glass after filling your tank with gas, checking your tires and washing your windows. All this for much less than $1 per gallon of gasoline.

The glasses also came in boxes of Crystal Oats and still do(but they're plastic now).

Yes, and also dolls from different countries (I had a collection) and yellow rubber duckies in boxes of soap.
